HIPS, or High Impact Polystyrene, is a dissolvable support material that is used wile 3D printing with ABS. Parts printed with HIPS as supports can be dissolved in d-Limonene, leaving your print free of any markings caused by support removal. HIPS has many of the same printing properties as ABS. In addition to being a great for supporting material, HIPS is also more dimensionally stable and slightly lighter than ABS, making it a good option for parts that would end up getting worn out or used in applications that can benefit from the lighter weight. Filament weight is 1kg, Spool & Packing weight is extra.

Description

  • +/- 0.03MM TOLERANCE: Our HIPS 3D printer filaments are produced with more precise specification and have a tolerance of only +/- 0.03 mm. No matter which 3D printer you are using, the consistently round diameters provide optimum flow through the extruder nozzle.
  • APPLICATIONS: Common Applications for HIPS filament include it being usable as Dissolvable Support Material for ABS 3d prints. It can also be used to print Cosplay & Wearables and to print protective cases enclosures for light weight printing.
  • PRINT PARAMETERS: Recommended print settings will be Nozzle Temperature is between 230 – 245 and Bed Temperature is 100 – 115. Make sure to use a good adhesive to Print the parts. You can use glue stick to print the parts and avoid warpage from the Bed. Part cooling fan is also not required.
  • VACUUMED SEALED PACKAGING: Some 3D printing materials can be negatively affected by moisture, so this is why Our 3D printer filaments are all vacuumed sealed along with a desiccant pack. This will enable you to easily keep your 3D printer filaments at an optimal storage condition and free from dust or dirt before opening the vacuumed sealed packaging.
  • STORAGE TIPS: HIPS filament is susceptible to moisture. We recommended storing filament in a sealed plastic bag or box after each print (a large ziplock or Tupperware works well). In extreme cases where the filament gets damp, you can bake it in an oven with 50-degree Celsius for about an hour to restore its dryness.
